AS’TUTE Studio, founded by Anastasia Stepanova, is a San Francisco-based boutique studio, working across architecture, interior, and object design.

Our name draws from the Latin noun astus, meaning "craft," and the Greek word asty, representing "town". It reflects our approach: being keenly observant and making thoughtful decisions based on our knowledge, experience, and genuine connection to the spaces we create.

At the heart of our design process is a deep understanding that each project is a unique opportunity to create a space that reflects one’s lifestyle and personality. We approach every project with a fresh perspective, eager to understand what home means to our clients, how they live in it, and what feelings they want it to evoke. Our goal is to craft timeless and deeply personal interiors in both form and function.

ANASTASIA STEPANOVA / Founder

Anastasia Stepanova completed her Master's in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in 2012.

Before founding AS’TUTE Studio, she gained extensive experience at award-winning firms, including Roman and Williams, AvroKO, MAK Studio, and Marmol Radziner, working on projects ranging from elegant private residences and boutique hotels to commercial and cultural developments.

As a designer, she is passionate about creating the experience of space with its unique rhythms and rhymes that resonate with individuals, leaving a lasting impression of enchantment and wonder.

Object as a magic lantern – is what she is striving to create as an artist and designer for the studio's collectible design pieces.
